Purchase Manager- Data Center Project

Job Summary

We are seeking a Purchase Manager with civil construction experience to manage procurement activities for our Data Center construction project. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, vendor management, material procurement, cost control, and ensuring timely availability of civil and structural materials as per project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle procurement of civil and structural materials (cement, steel, aggregates, concrete, shuttering, rebar, finishing materials, etc.).
• Develop and maintain vendor database, negotiate rates, and finalize purchase orders/contracts.
• Ensure materials are procured as per project specifications, quality standards, and BOQ requirements.
• Coordinate with site teams, project engineers, and consultants for material planning.
• Monitor stock levels, delivery schedules, and logistics to ensure timely material availability.
• Prepare comparative statements, cost analysis, and budget tracking.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and contractual terms.
• Support vendor audits, quality checks, and approval processes.
• Liaise with accounts for invoice verification and timely vendor payments.

Qualifications & Skills

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum 5 years in civil procurement, preferably in Data Center / high-rise / industrial projects
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, market rates, and vendor networks.
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, and procurement tools.
• Ability to manage multiple vendors and meet project deadlines under pressure.

Preferred Background

• Experience in Data Center, IT parks, commercial, or large infrastructure projects.
• Familiarity with FIDIC/contract terms and project-based procurement processes.

• Prior experience in construction of high rise/ infrastructure/ Date center projects
