Job Purpose

To plan, manage, and control all procurement activities for lift irrigation construction projects, ensuring timely availability of materials, equipment, and services in line with project schedules, technical specifications, budget, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement

    procurement strategies

    for lift irrigation projects including pumps, motors, pipelines, valves, electrical & mechanical equipment, civil materials, and subcontracted services.
  • Prepare and manage

    procurement plans

    aligned with project schedules and cash flow.
  • Identify, evaluate, and finalize

    vendors and suppliers

    through prequalification, techno-commercial evaluation, and negotiations.
  • Lead

    tendering processes

    (RFQs, RFIs, RFPs), bid evaluation, and contract finalization.
  • Negotiate

    prices, delivery schedules, payment terms

    , and warranties to optimize cost and quality.
  • Coordinate closely with

    Engineering, Planning, QA/QC, Stores, and Site Teams

    .
  • Ensure compliance with

    contractual, statutory, and company procurement policies

    .
  • Monitor supplier performance, resolve disputes, and manage claims.
  • Oversee logistics, transportation, insurance, and material delivery to remote project sites.
  • Control procurement risks and maintain proper documentation and audit trails.
  • Lead and mentor procurement team members.

  • Large-diameter MS/DI/HDPE pipelines
  • Pumps, motors, transformers, VFDs
  • Electrical panels, cables, switchyards
  • Valves, gates, and hydraulic equipment
  • Civil construction materials & subcontract packages

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in

    Engineering / Supply Chain / Procurement / MBA

    preferred
  • 5–15 years

    of procurement experience in

    construction or lift irrigation projects

  • Strong knowledge of EPC contracts and project-based procurement
