Purchase Executive

Core Responsibilities: Buyers and purchasing agents buy products and services for organizations to use or resell. They evaluate suppliers, negotiate contracts, and review the quality of products.6 Key Duties: Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery speed and service Interview vendors and visit suppliers' facilities to examine products and services Attend trade shows and conferences to learn industry trends and make supplier contacts Analyze price proposals and financial reports to determine reasonable prices Negotiate contracts on behalf of the organization Monitor delivery agreements with suppliers Address issues with defective or unacceptable goods Ensure vendor compliance with contract terms Maintain records of purchases, costs, deliveries, and inventory6 Required Skills and Competencies: Analytical skills: Must evaluate options and choose suppliers offering the best combination of price, quality, delivery and service Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities required Decision-making skills: Ability to make informed and timely choices about product selections Interpersonal skills: Must effectively negotiate terms and diplomatically resolve issues Math skills: Ability to calculate costs and compare prices to ensure optimal deals6 Education and Experience Requirements: Most positions require a bachelor's degree, though some roles may accept candidates with a high school diploma.
