Purchase Engineer

As an Engineer/Senior Engineer in the Purchase department, you will be responsible for procurement activities such as purchasing project materials, capex items, electrical equipment, engineering products, and spares. Your duties will include floating inquiries for required products, collecting and comparing quotations, negotiating with suppliers for the best rates, quality, and delivery timelines. You will prepare purchase orders, get them approved, and ensure timely delivery to the plant. Additionally, you will verify purchased products, maintain records, manage budgets, and uphold purchasing standards. Your role will also involve data maintenance tasks like entering purchase orders into the ERP system, generating reports, updating daily statuses, and ensuring the accuracy of management information systems. You will maintain files and documents according to ISO and 5S norms. Vendor development is a crucial aspect of this position. You will maintain an approved vendor list, release purchase orders only to approved vendors, liaise with vendors for order amendments, and develop new vendor relationships. Monitoring vendor and subcontractor activities, conducting vendor audits, and collecting vendor ratings will be part of your responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with ISO, TS, and EMS standards will be essential. You will maintain relevant documents, submit criteria on time, and participate in internal and external audits related to ISO/IATF/EMS. In addition to the core responsibilities, you will engage in activities like preparing appraisal reports, conducting plant and supplier visits, managing document filing and distribution, and coordinating with various departments. Preferred industry experience in the automobile sector or lighting industry is beneficial for this role. This is a full-time position with day shifts requiring a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 6 years of relevant work experience.
