Job Summary:

The Public Relations Officer is responsible for developing and maintaining a positive public image for the school through effective communication, media engagement, and community outreach. The role supports school leadership in promoting achievements, managing communication strategies, and enhancing the school’s reputation among students, parents, alumni, and the broader community.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Communication & Media Relations:

  • Prepare and distribute press releases, newsletters, and official school statements.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with local media outlets to secure coverage of school events and achievements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for media inquiries.
  • Coordinate interviews, press conferences, and public appearances for school leaders.

2. Marketing & Promotion:

  • Design and implement PR campaigns to promote school programs, initiatives, and events.
  • Manage and update content on the school’s website and official social media platforms.
  • Create promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, banners, and videos.
  • Support student recruitment and enrollment marketing efforts.

3. Event Planning & Management:

  • Plan, coordinate, and promote school events such as open houses, graduation ceremonies, fundraisers, and cultural days.
  • Oversee event branding, press coverage, and photography/videography.

4. Community & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as a liaison between the school and parents, alumni, donors, and community partners.
  • Develop initiatives to strengthen community relationships and school visibility.
  • Organize outreach activities, charity events, and volunteer opportunities.

5. Crisis Communication:

  • Assist in managing the school’s reputation during crises or emergencies.
  • Draft and disseminate timely and appropriate messages to staff, parents, and the public.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in public relations, preferably in an educational or nonprofit environment.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in social media management and content creation tools.
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion and professionalism.
  • Creative thinker with strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Knowledge of digital marketing and media analytics is an advantage.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹9,258.66 - ₹25,000.00 per month
