Job Description

Position Summary:

We are looking for a compassionate and experienced Psychologist to support the emotional and mental well-being of our elderly residents. The ideal candidate will have experience in geriatric psychology and be skilled in developing individualized mental health plans, facilitating therapy, and promoting cognitive and emotional health through daily engagement and activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments and regular evaluations of residents’ cognitive, emotional, and behavioral health.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions tailored to the needs of elderly residents.
  • Develop and implement mental wellness programs that foster social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and emotional support.
  • Collaborate with activity coordinators to integrate therapeutic engagement into daily activities.
  • Work closely with nursing staff, caregivers, and families to create and monitor comprehensive care plans.
  • Provide crisis intervention and grief counseling as needed.
  • Educate staff and families on mental health issues such as dementia, depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment disorders.
  • Maintain confidential and accurate documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
  • Stay informed about developments in geriatric psychology and contribute to the continuous improvement of care practices.

Requirements:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology (Clinical, Counseling, or Geriatric Psychology preferred).
  • Valid license to practice as a psychologist [insert regional licensing requirement].
  • Experience working with older adults in clinical or residential settings.
  • Strong understanding of age-related psychological conditions (e.g., dementia, depression, anxiety).
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary care team.
  • Experience in facilitating group sessions and community-based programs is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
