Full Time
Key Responsibility:
1.Proposal Development & Bid Management Analyse client inquiries, and technical specifications for distillery projects. Prepare and submit techno-commercial proposals for fermentation, distillation, ethanol production, and by-product management systems. Develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and mass energy balances for proposals. Create detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ), equipment specifications, and cost estimations. Ensure that proposals comply with industry standards (API, ASME, GMP, ISO 14001, HAZOP, etc.).
2. Cost Estimation & Budgeting Perform cost analysis for equipment, utilities, civil works, piping, automation, and erection & commissioning. Work closely with procurement and engineering teams to get vendor quotations and pricing details. Prepare budgetary and detailed cost estimates for greenfield and brownfield distillery projects. Optimize costs while maintaining process efficiency, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
3. Technical Solution Design Design distillery technology solutions (molasses-based, grain-based, or second-generation bioethanol plants). Select appropriate fermentation, distillation, molecular sieve dehydration, evaporation, and effluent treatment technologies. Recommend energy-efficient solutions such as waste heat recovery, biofuel integration, and zero liquid discharge (ZLD) systems. Collaborate with process engineers and R&D teams for innovative and customized solutions.
4. Client Engagement & Pre-Sales Support Conduct technical discussions and presentations for clients. Address client queries related to process design, plant capacity, energy efficiency, and environmental compliance. Assist the sales team in negotiating contracts and finalizing scope of supply. Support clients in regulatory compliance and feasibility studies for ethanol projects.
5. Vendor & Supplier Coordination Liaise with equipment manufacturers, EPC contractors, and automation suppliers for technical specifications. Evaluate supplier capabilities and compare proposals to ensure the best quality-to-cost ratio. Assist in vendor selection and standardization of equipment for distillery projects.
6. RFQs (Request for Quotations & Documentation Prepare and submit RFQs (Request for Quotations), RFPs (Request for Proposals) Develop commercial and technical documentation, process guarantees, and compliance statements. Ensure proper documentation for technical proposals, design calculations, and process warranties.
7. Industry Compliance & Regulations Ensure that proposals align with environmental norms, pollution control board requirements, and renewable energy guidelines. Keep up to date with government policies on ethanol blending mandates, excise regulations, and sustainability targets. Provide inputs on fire safety, hazardous area classification, and risk assessment requirements for distillery plants.
8. Process Optimization & Value Engineering Identify cost-saving opportunities in process design, equipment selection, and plant layout. Recommend automation and digitalization for process monitoring and efficiency improvement. Optimize energy consumption, water recycling, and waste-to-energy solutions in proposals.
Technical & Commercial Expertise Proficiency in process simulation software (Aspen HYSYS, CHEMCAD, AutoCAD, MATLAB). Experience in cost estimation, feasibility studies, and techno-economic evaluations. Knowledge of supply chain, vendor management, and procurement processes for distillery projects. Familiarity with SCADA, DCS, PLC-based automation systems used in ethanol plants.
