Project Specific Engineer (Electrical)

Responsibilities

• Understand project requirements and specifications related to electrical systems.
• Design electrical layouts, circuit diagrams, and perform load calculations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes and industry standards.
• Collaborate with architects, civil engineers, and other stakeholders for integrated project execution.
• Assist in selecting appropriate electrical materials, equipment, and components.
• Provide technical guidance to site engineers and contractors.
• Monitor installation of electrical wiring, panels, transformers, and related equipment.
• Conduct inspections to ensure quality and adherence to project plans.
• Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during construction.
• Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement preventive safety measures.
• Oversee grounding, circuit protection, and fire safety provisions.
• Perform system tests and troubleshoot electrical faults.
• Verify proper functioning of electrical components before project handover.
• Coordinate with vendors for calibration and validation of systems.
• Prepare progress reports, technical documents, and compliance certificates.
• Maintain records of electrical drawings, test results, and material usage.
• Support preparation of project documentation, including RFIs and change orders.
• Estimate electrical material and labor costs, and monitor expenses for cost-effective execution.
• Identify and address potential cost overruns.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and government agencies for electrical approvals and inspections.
• Provide technical support and address project-related queries.

Requirements

• First-class Graduate/Postgraduate in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of relevant post-qualification experience (excluding apprenticeship), OR Diploma holders in Electrical with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Strong technical knowledge and communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
• Experience in project management of electrical works in large-scale projects such as airport terminals, 5-star hotels, malls, commercial complexes, corporate offices, hospitals, institutional buildings, high-rise residential buildings, or industrial facilities.
• Experience in handling PWD/CPWD projects is desirable.
• PMP certification is an added advantage.
