Own the site execution plan, micro schedule, and S curve; develop and track weekly look ahead plans.
Establish and run daily/weekly progress review meetings (internal + contractors); publish DPR/WPR/MPR and executive dashboards. Drive critical path items, interface management (civil mechanical, electrical instrumentation), and change control. Budget tracking: RA bill verification, BOQ/BOM reconciliation, contractor productivity, and cost variance reports. Vendor management & expediting; ensure availability of drawings, MRs, WOs, and site instructions.
Erection & Mechanical Completion
Oversee the erection of feedstock handling, digester/fermenter systems, biogas upgrading (e.g., PSA/membrane/water scrubbing), H S removal, dehumidification/drying, gas analyzers, compressors/boosters, cascade storage, dispensing/virtual pipeline, and flare. Ensure piping fabrication/erection per P&IDs, isometrics, GA drawings and welding/NDT plans; witness hydro/pneumatic tests. Coordinate electrical systems: MCC/PCC, transformers, DG, earthing, lighting, VFDs, and interlocks; and instrumentation: PLC/SCADA, RTUs, analyzers, OPC/MQTT gateways, and local historian. Manage utilities: water supply, cooling, air, nitrogen, FOM handling, silage/press mud logistics as applicable. Close punch lists to Mechanical Completion (MC) and achieve Ready for Commissioning (RFC). Commissioning, Start Up & Performance
Prepare and execute pre commissioning/commissioning procedures, checklists, SATs/FATs, loop checks, cause-and-effect tests and interlock validation. Lead safe gas in, functional trials, ramp up, and performance guarantee (PG) testing for purity, pressure, flow/throughput, and specific energy. Troubleshoot process and control issues; stabilize plant for handover to O&M with training, SOPs, and as built documentation.
Quality, HSE & Compliance
Implement QA/QC plans; ensure material traceability, ITPs, WPS/PQR, and inspection records. Enforce HSE: work permit systems (hot work, confined space), JSA, LOTO, and emergency response drills; lead Toolbox Talks. Ensure compliance with applicable Indian codes & approvals, e.g., PESO (compressed gas storage/dispensing), State Pollution Control Board (consents/exemptions), Factory Act, CEA electrical safety, PNGRB/CGD sync interface requirements, and local authority permits. Coordinate with third party inspectors, statutory bodies, and client representatives.
Stakeholder Management & Reporting
Single point site contact for management, EPC/consultants, CGD/GAIL or offtaker, vendors, and local authorities. Provide crisp executive updates: risks, mitigations, forecast to finish, claims/change orders, and capex utilization. Maintain transparent documentation: RFI/RFC, site instructions, MOMs, transmittals, and handover dossiers. Must Have Qualifications
Bachelor s degree in Mechanical / Chemical / Electrical / Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent). 7 10 years total experience with at least 5 years in site execution and 2+ years in commissioning of process/utility or gas projects. Proven delivery of brownfield/greenfield projects with rotating equipment, compressors, process skids, and automation. Strong command over project controls (MS Project/Primavera), progress measurement, and contractor management. Working knowledge of PLC/SCADA, loop checks, OPC/MQTT, and historian basics (enough to lead vendors). Solid grasp of QA/QC, HSE, and statutory requirements (PESO, SPCB, Factory Act). Preferred Experience (Good to Have)
Direct experience on CBG/biogas plants (digesters, upgrading: PSA/membrane/water scrubbing; gas quality: CH %, CO , H S, O , moisture). Prior role in an EPC environment with multi disciplinary coordination. Knowledge of CGD interconnection (CBG CGD Synchronization), metering, and custody transfer. Exposure to FOM handling, silage logistics, agri interfaces, and utilities sizing. Familiarity with MNRE/state incentives, documentation, and compliance trails. Vendor ecosystem awareness for major packages (compressors, analyzers, membranes/PSA, dryers, cascade, dispensers, PLC/SCADA).
Technical & Behavioural Competencies
Technical: P&ID reading, system walk downs, pressure testing, rotating equipment start up, E&I checkouts, cause-and-effect, commissioning procedures. Digital tools: MS Project/Primavera, Excel (progress trackers), PowerPoint, SharePoint/Drive, basic AutoCAD/Navisworks (viewing). Behavioural: Leadership at the site, urgency bias, structured problem solving, stakeholder management, negotiation with contractors, and clear written/oral reporting.
