Job Description (JD)Position: Project Controller

Department: Project Control / Execution

Reporting To: Business Controller / Board of Directors (BOD)

Location: Project Sites / HO (as assigned)

Employment Type: Full-time

Role Objective

The Project Controller shall act as the single-point owner of project control and delivery, overseeing multiple ongoing projects of Turnpike India Pvt. Ltd. The role is responsible for planning, execution monitoring, cost control, billing, coordination, and reporting, functioning at a level equivalent to an overall Project Manager, with strong commercial and governance control.

Key Responsibilities

1. Overall Project Control & Governance

  • Overall control and monitoring of all active projects of Turnpike.
  • Ensure projects are executed as per approved scope, drawings, BOQs, timelines, and budgets.
  • Act as central coordination authority between site teams, planning, billing, procurement, and management.
  • Enforce company systems, SOPs, reporting discipline, and documentation standards across all projects.

2. Planning & Scheduling

  • Review and control project execution plans, bar charts, micro-schedules, and milestones.
  • Track daily, weekly, and monthly progress against planned targets.
  • Identify delays, bottlenecks, and risks; propose corrective and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate with site teams to ensure resource optimization (manpower, machinery, materials).

3. Cost Control & Budget Monitoring

  • Monitor project-wise budgets, cost consumption, and deviations.
  • Control overheads, subcontractor costs, and extra works.
  • Ensure variation / additional items are properly recorded, approved, and billed.
  • Support management in profitability analysis and forecasting.

4. Billing & Commercial Control

  • Supervise preparation and certification of:
  • RA Bills
  • Final Bills
  • Extra / deviation statements
  • Ensure billing is aligned with contract conditions, BOQ rates, and certifications.
  • Track billing vs collections, pending certifications, and client payments.
  • Coordinate with accounts/commercial team for timely invoicing and recovery.

5. Contract & Client Coordination

  • Interpret contract conditions, scope boundaries, and commercial clauses.
  • Handle client, PMC, consultant, and engineer-in-charge coordination.
  • Support management in claims, extensions of time (EOT), and dispute documentation.
  • Ensure all client communications are technically and contractually sound.

6. Site Monitoring & Team Leadership

  • Guide and monitor:
  • Project Managers
  • Site Engineers
  • Planning & Billing Engineers
  • Conduct periodic site reviews and progress meetings.
  • Ensure quality, safety, and statutory compliance at sites.
  • Enforce accountability and performance discipline across teams.

7. Reporting & MIS

  • Prepare and present:
  • Project status reports
  • Cost vs budget statements
  • Billing & cash flow reports
  • Risk & issue trackers
  • Provide clear dashboards and summaries to Business Controller and BOD.
  • Highlight early warning signals on time, cost, quality, or contractual risks.

Authority & Decision Rights

  • Recommend project-level decisions related to:
  • Planning changes
  • Billing strategies
  • Resource deployment
  • Escalate critical issues directly to Business Controller / BOD.
  • Coordinate approvals for variations, claims, and major deviations.

Required Qualifications

  • B.E./B.Tech / Diploma in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum 8–15 years experience in:
  • Industrial projects
  • Roads & infrastructure
  • Building & civil works
  • Strong exposure to multi-project environments.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong command over:
  • Project planning & control
  • Cost management & billing
  • Contract interpretation
  • AutoCAD
  • MS Excel
  • Project tracking tools (Primavera/MS Project – preferred)
  • Excellent coordination, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Commercially sharp with a management-oriented mindset

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹420,000.00 - ₹840,000.00 per year
