Job Description

As a Program Buyer at Tenneco, you will play a crucial role in coordinating suppliers for new parts development, ensuring Quality, Delivery, and Cost support for program SOP launch. Your responsibilities will include: - Coordinating suppliers on new parts development for Proto and Series development for product launches. - Providing active representation on project teams, including PM/Engineering, and following up with suppliers until SOP +90 days. - Conducting cost evaluations and negotiations with suppliers to meet program targets. - Negotiating technical and/or supply agreements with suppliers involved in "early supplier involvement." - Driving value analysis/value engineering activities during the launch phase. - Supporting the improvement of supplier launch procedures to minimize inventory obsolescence and meet lean manufacturing needs. In terms of qualifications, you should have: - A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline. - Minimum of 6+ years of related work experience. - Prior program purchasing experience in a relevant Shock absorber company. Key skills required for this role include: - Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. - Leadership abilities and a team player mindset. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Excel, and ERP systems (SAP desired). - Functional understanding of Six Sigma, Lean, Continuous Improvement, BOMs, ERP, and TS16949. - Ability to interpret and communicate engineering drawings and specifications. - Previous experience with 2-wheeler shock absorbers is desired. - Motivated self-starter familiar with a range of materials and manufacturing processes. - Ability to support new product launch processes such as APQP, PPAP documentation, and project planning. Additionally, this role may require travel within India and internationally as needed.
