The Product & Quality Control Marine Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all the drawing and documents prepared by the engineering team meets the client specification and the classification rules and regulations requirements. The engineer is responsible for the preparation of technical specifications for the procurement of marine equipment, systems, and components meeting the client’s quality, performance, and safety standards. If required, the engineer should attend the testing of equipment and components at the vendor's premises or test facilities and ensure compliance. The role involves close coordination with design, production, procurement team and validating marine products — ensuring compliance with class, flag state, and customer requirements
Conduct inspection and testing of marine systems, machinery, and equipment during production and before delivery.
Should be able to check the drawings and calculation reports of the design team.
Ensure compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, class society, and IMO standards.
Prepare inspection and test plans (ITP), quality checklists, and verification reports.
Maintain records of inspection reports, non-conformity reports (NCRs), and corrective actions.
Review engineering drawings, material certificates, and vendor documentation to ensure conformity.
Technical evaluation of vendor bids against the client and class requirements.
Supervise functional and performance testing of marine machinery and equipment.
Coordinate with shipyards, suppliers, and classification societies during factory acceptance tests (FAT)
Strong knowledge of marine systems, including propulsion, auxiliary machinery, and ballast water treatment systems.
Should have good knowledge of the materials used in ship building industry.
Familiarity with IMO, Class, and Flag regulations.
Proficiency in inspection tools, testing procedures, and documentation control.
Analytical skills for root cause analysis and problem-solving.
Effective communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.

Bachelor’s degree in Marine engineering / Naval Architecture / Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent.
2–5 years of experience in marine equipment production, shipyard quality control, or marine service engineering.
Experience in handling marine system installations, FAT, or class inspections preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, and QA/QC documentation tools.
