Procurement Officer

As a Procurement Officer in the civil engineering industry, your main responsibility will be to source and procure materials, equipment, and services required for projects. Your focus will be on ensuring timely delivery, maintaining quality, and cost-effectiveness, while also building strong relationships with suppliers. Key Responsibilities: - Sourcing and Supplier Management: - Identify, evaluate, and select potential suppliers based on project requirements, cost, quality, and reliability. - Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements. - Maintain and foster strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality. - Procurement Process Management: - Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with project goals and company policies. - Process purchase orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project timelines. - Monitor and track purchase orders throughout the procurement process, promptly addressing any issues or delays. - Cost Management: - Conduct cost analyses and comparisons to determine the most cost-effective suppliers and products. - Monitor project costs and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. - Quality Assurance: - Ensure that all materials, equipment, and services meet the required quality standards. - Conduct quality inspections and audits as needed, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively. - Communication and Collaboration: - Act as a point of contact between the company and suppliers. - Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders. - Attend meetings with the engineering team, vendors, and suppliers. - Record Keeping: - Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, including purchase orders, contracts, and supplier performance. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Education: B.Tech-Civil - Experience: Proven experience in procurement, preferably in the civil engineering or construction industry. - Skills: - Strong negotiation and communication skills. - Excellent organizational and time management skills. - Knowledge of procurement processes and best practices. - Proficiency in using procurement software and systems. - Ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. - Other: - Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations. - Ability to travel as needed.
