Core Roles and Responsibilities
1. Process Design and Development
- Design and develop new manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and production workflows.
- Lead process scale-up from laboratory or pilot stages to full-scale industrial manufacturing.
- Evaluate process feasibility, resource requirements, and technical specifications to support decision-making and implementation.
2. Optimization and Efficiency Improvement
- Analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to reduce waste, lower costs, and improve productivity.
- Assess and integrate automation, advanced manufacturing technologies, and digital tools to enhance operational performance.
3. Quality Control and Compliance

Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
activities, ensuring process stability, part quality, documentation accuracy, and risk mitigation. - Monitor quality performance and implement control methods such as
Statistical Process Control (SPC)
. - Ensure compliance with applicable
ISO, OSHA, and internal Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE)
standards. - Conduct risk assessments (e.g.,
HAZOP
) and implement effective mitigation strategies.
4. Documentation and Training
- Develop, review, and maintain technical documentation, including process flow diagrams, SOPs, work instructions, and engineering reports.
- Train production teams and junior engineers on new processes, equipment, and safety requirements.
- Ensure all documentation meets regulatory, quality, and internal compliance standards.
5. Project Management and Collaboration
- Lead or support engineering and process improvement projects, ensuring on-time delivery, budget adherence, and successful equipment installation.
- Collaborate closely with
R&D, Quality, Maintenance, Production, and Management
teams to align manufacturing processes with business objectives. - Support plant trials, validation activities, and cross-functional initiatives.
6. Troubleshooting and Technical Support
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, equipment breakdowns, and quality deviations to improve
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
. - Perform
Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
and implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)
. - Provide technical guidance and support to production and maintenance teams.
