Principal QRA Facilities Qualification Engineer

ABOUT THE BUSINESS:

Tata Electronics Private Limited (TEPL) is a greenfield venture of the Tata Group with expertise in manufacturing precision components.

Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Develop and enforce QA standards for UPW, WWT, gas, chemicals, and cleanroom systems.
2. Establish audit frameworks and continuous improvement programs.
3. Oversee QA for facility expansions, technology transfers, and critical hook-up activities.
4. Own PFMEA libraries and risk mitigation strategies for facility systems.
5. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14644, SEMI standards, and local regulations.
6. Act as primary QA contact for customer audits and certifications.
7. Mentor senior engineers; build QA competency across the facilities organization.

ESSENTIAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Expert in UPW, gas purity standards, gas and chemical distribution, and cleanroom ISO 14644.
• Proficient in SPC, PFMEA, and root cause analysis
• Strong knowledge of SEMI, ISO 14644, and regulatory compliance.
• Advanced data analysis and risk management capabilities.
• Strategic thinker, strong leadership, excellent communication, and customer engagement skills.

QUALIFICATION:

• Bachelors required.
• Master’s/PhD preferred in mechanical/Chemical/Electrical Engineering.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

1. 10+ years in semiconductor facility QA with leadership experience
2. Incoming Quality Control (IQC) or Supplier Quality (SQE) experience will be helpful
3. Proven problem-solving skills
4. Quality Mindset and methodical approach to issues resolution
5. Strong knowledge of UPW, gas purity standards, chemical distribution, and cleanroom ISO 14644.
6. Expert in cleanroom qualification, contamination control, and utility system QA.
7. Strong knowledge of SEMI, ISO 14644, and regulatory compliance.
8. Advanced data analysis and risk management capabilities.
9. Strategic thinker, strong leadership, excellent communication, and customer/vendor engagement skills.
