Job Description

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to implement the service strategy and drive service growth at the respective unit level. Each day, you will lead the Service organization and be responsible for the P&L to achieve performance targets and to optimize the utilization of Service resources. You will also showcase your expertise by running the day-to-day service business to ensure profitable growth and improvement of service productivity.

This role is contributing to the Process automation in Marine & Ports in the India region. Main stakeholders include vessel operators, port authorities, internal service operations teams, and external service partners or contractors.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Supporting the implementation of service strategy by aligning divisional direction with local service operations and contributing to strategic execution.
  • Ensuring consistent deployment of strategic plans across the service organization through close collaboration with internal teams and business units.
  • Overseeing, tracking, and reporting performance targets related to financial results, productivity, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence within the units P&L.
  • Contributing to the enhancement of existing service offerings and supporting the development of new productized services in alignment with global and divisional guidance

Qualifications for the role:

  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in service operations, including at least 3 years within the ports industry managing equipment, systems, or technical services.
  • B.E. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or an equivalent technical qualification).
  • Strong technical competence in understanding customer requirements, troubleshooting issues, and supporting service delivery in a port operations environment.
  • Proven ability to manage service performance, including productivity, operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and adherence to P&L targets.
  • Extensive knowledge of port operations, industry standards, compliance requirements, and customer expectations within the sector.
  • Hands-on experience collaborating with port authorities, vessel operators, contractors, and internal service teams to ensure smooth service execution.
  • Skilled in communication, time management, and stakeholder engagement, with a solution-oriented and structured approach to delivering service excellence.
