Saint-Gobains Glass business in India manufactures a wide variety of flat glass products and solutions for architectural and automotive requirements. It started operations in the year 2000 with the commissioning of its first float glass plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Since then it has rapidly expanded, invested close to INR 4800 Crs and deepened its presence in the Indian flat glass market.

manufacturing footprint with plants in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu (started in May 2000), Jhagadia, Gujarat (acquisition in May 2011) & Bhiwadi, Rajasthan (greenfield investment started in March 2014). Saint-Gobain has pioneered several Product, Marketing, Manufacturing, Application and Human Resources innovations that helped in the emergence of product differentiation, segmentation and knowledge / skill development in what was seen as a commodity industry. Saint-Gobains glass manufacturing facilities in South India are housed in the World Glass complex at Sriperumbudur, near Chennai. Spread over a campus of 177 acres, The World Glass Complex (WGC) with investments close to INR 3000 Crs, is one of the largest investments in a single location by Saint-Gobain worldwide and houses:

Purpose:

  • Responsible for formulating, aligning and implementing Human Resources, Administration and Industrial Relations strategies & policies of Saint-Gobain for the location.
  • Accountable for the people practices, processes and systems through standardized methods / Top Employer frame work that can be measured, assessed and also classified as Benchmark practices of the location and hence accountable to Team Leader Operations as well.
  • Championing Recruitments (Campus & Lateral), Performance management and change management initiatives at locations responsible by this position.
  • Integrating the locations with respect to social security compliance / strategy and inputs for payroll processing in line with ICRF Frame work.
