Job Description

The Planning Engineer SCM will act as a critical interface between customers, manufacturing plants, and the procurement team. The role is responsible for efficient order processing, MIS reporting, data analysis and simulations, and creation and maintenance of system masters to enable smooth supply chain operations and production planning.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain, and manage master data ensuring dynamic and real-time visibility.
  • Develop and generate manufacturing plans aligned with customer demand, production priorities, and capacity constraints.
  • Consolidate customer demands, orders, and forecasts and convert them into actionable manufacturing plans.
  • Ensure timely availability of BOMs for weekly and monthly production requirements in coordination with the procurement team.
  • Collaborate closely with Project, Operations, Sales, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless order fulfillment.
  • Proactively identify gaps in planning or execution and escalate issues to stakeholders for timely resolution.
  • Coordinate with customers and logistics teams to ensure on-time delivery of products.
  • Effectively collaborate with overseas teams, requiring strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.

Qualification & Experience Required

  • Engineering Graduate (B.E. / B.Tech) in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in PPC, production planning, SCM, or logistics roles.
  • Prior experience in engineering industries, auto ancillary, or industrial equipment manufacturing organizations.
  • Strong understanding of demand-driven planning concepts and practices.
  • Hands-on experience with reputed ERP systems, particularly in Sales & Distribution (S&D) modules.
  • Proven ability to manage and analyze large datasets for planning and decision-making.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, Macros, and data analysis tools.
