Role Overview

Pharma Technology Sourcing Specialist

Key Responsibilities

Scouting & Identification

• Source innovative pharma/biotech technologies outside traditional CDMO pipelines.
• Focus on

  universities, TTOs, government R&D labs, spinouts, incubators, and early-stage biotech firms

  .
• Map

  regional innovators

  (Eastern Europe, LATAM, Africa, SE Asia, MENA) who are underexposed to big pharma.

Networking & Relationship Building

• Build and leverage relationships with:

• TTOs

  (MIT TLO, Oxford University Innovation, ETH Zurich, Karolinska, CSIR India, NUS Singapore, etc.)

• Global TTO associations

  (AUTM, ASTP, PraxisAuril, ATTP, LICA, RedOTRI).

• Clusters/associations

  (MassBio, BioNJ, Biocom, Swiss Biotech Association, Pharmexcil).

• CDMOs/CMOs

  – selectively, for downstream scalability.

Evaluation

• Pre-screen technologies by:

• TRL level

  (preferably TRL 4–6+).
• Technical feasibility & IP status.

• Commercial scalability

  (manufacturing, regulatory, market fit).

Deal Facilitation

• Arrange introductions and structure early-stage licensing/partnership agreements.
• Support negotiations in collaboration with Outthinc’s core team.

Strategic Insights

• Provide intelligence on

  global tech trends, emerging therapeutic areas, and undervalued opportunities

  .
• Advise on positioning technologies for out-licensing or co-development.
