WE ARE HIRING PGT ENGLISH TEACHERS FOR CBSE AFFILIATED SCHOOL

1. Role Overview

The PGT English teacher will be responsible for teaching English Language and Literature to senior secondary students (Classes XI & XII). The role includes planning lessons, preparing students for board exams, developing critical thinking and communication abilities, and maintaining a positive learning environment.

2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Academic Responsibilities

  • Teach CBSE English curriculum for Classes 11 & 12, including:
  • Prose, Poetry, Drama, Fiction
  • Writing Skills (Essays, Reports, Notices, Articles, Letters)
  • Grammar, Reading Comprehension & Literary Analysis
  • Prepare detailed lesson plans, learning modules, and teaching aids.
  • Conduct classroom lectures, discussions, and interactive sessions.
  • Use innovative and student-centric teaching methodologies.
  • Prepare students for board exams and competitive subjects related to English communication.

B. Assessment & Evaluation

  • Design question papers, assignments, class tests, and practice exercises.
  • Evaluate answer scripts and provide constructive feedback.
  • Maintain student performance records, report cards, and academic data.
  • Identify learning gaps and plan remedial classes.

C. Classroom Management

  • Maintain effective classroom discipline and decorum.
  • Create an engaging, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
  • Encourage critical thinking, creative expression, and communication skills.

D. Co-curricular Contributions

  • Guide students in debate, elocution, theatre, creative writing, poetry sessions, etc.
  • Support school literary events, English clubs, newsletters, and competitions.
  • Participate in school celebrations, academic events, and parent-teacher meetings.

E. Administrative Duties

  • Maintain attendance records.
  • Prepare yearly academic plans, unit plans, and syllabus breakups.
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development programs.
  • Coordinate with department heads and school management.

3. Qualifications & RequirementsEducational Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in English / English Literature (mandatory)
  • B.Ed from a recognized university (mandatory for CBSE schools)

Experience

  • 4-7 years of teaching experience at senior secondary level preferred.
  • Freshers with strong subject knowledge may also apply (as per school policy).

Skills Required

  • Excellent command over spoken & written English.
  • Strong knowledge of English literature, grammar, and writing techniques.
  • Ability to teach complex literary texts with clarity.
  • Classroom management and student engagement skills.
  • Creative teaching approach and knowledge of NEP/modern pedagogies.
  • Proficiency in using digital tools, smart boards, and online platforms.

Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
