Job Purpose:

The PESO Operator is responsible for the safe operation, handling, and storage of hazardous materials as per the guidelines of the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO), Government of India. The role ensures strict compliance with safety regulations related to storage tanks, pipelines, and equipment handling ethanol or other hazardous substances.

Key Responsibilities:

✅ Operate and monitor storage tanks, pipelines, pumps, and related equipment used for handling ethanol and other hazardous materials.

✅ Ensure compliance with PESO regulations, licenses, and statutory guidelines for storage and handling.

✅ Conduct routine checks and inspections of storage tanks, valves, pipelines, and safety equipment.

✅ Maintain proper documentation and records related to PESO approvals, inspections, and safety audits.

✅ Ensure safe loading, unloading, and transfer of ethanol or other hazardous products.

✅ Report any abnormalities, leaks, or unsafe conditions immediately to the concerned authority.

✅ Participate in emergency response drills, safety training, and firefighting activities as per PESO norms.

✅ Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure integrity and safe operation of PESO-regulated equipment.

✅ Assist in preparation and submission of reports for PESO authorities as required.

✅ Ensure the availability and upkeep of safety equipment like firefighting systems, gas detectors, and PPE in PESO-regulated areas.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education:

  ITI / Diploma / Graduate with relevant technical background.

• Experience:

  Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in operations of PESO-regulated storage tanks, pipelines, or handling hazardous materials in an ethanol plant, distillery, refinery, or similar industry.

Key Skills & Competencies:

✔ In-depth knowledge of PESO guidelines and safety standards.

✔ Experience in handling hazardous chemicals and flammable materials.

✔ Ability to identify risks and respond to emergencies effectively.

✔ Good understanding of storage tank operations, pipelines, and safety systems.

✔ Awareness of fire safety, emergency response, and first-aid practices.

✔ Strong documentation and reporting skills.

✔ Team player with good communication and coordination abilities.
