About the Role

We are currently partnering with a US-based financial organization to build modern mortgage solutions, and we are looking for a skilled Performance Tester to join our team immediately. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in performance testing using K6, including both API and browser-based performance testing, along with expertise in UI automation using Playwright.

This role also demands solid proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript scripting, familiarity with observability tools, and the ability to integrate performance testing into CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts using K6 for APIs and browser-based applications.

• Conduct load, stress, spike, soak, and baseline testing to identify performance bottlenecks.

• Develop and maintain UI automation tests using Playwright or similar frameworks.

• Integrate performance testing into continuous integration and delivery pipelines (CI/CD).

• Monitor and analyze performance metrics using observability tools such as New Relic, OpenTelemetry, or other APM solutions.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot performance issues and recommend optimization strategies.

• Document test results, create detailed performance reports, and communicate findings effectively.

• Work collaboratively with global teams in an onsite-offshore model across time zones.

Required Skills & Experience

• Hands-on experience with K6 for performance testing (including k6/experimental/browser).

• Strong understanding of API and browser-based performance testing techniques.

• Proficiency in UI automation using Playwright (experience with Selenium or Cypress is also acceptable).

• Solid grasp of JavaScript and TypeScript, with good scripting and modular coding practices.

• In-depth knowledge of testing methodologies such as load, stress, spike, soak, and baseline testing.

• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic, OpenTelemetry, or APM tools.

• Exposure to cloud monitoring using AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, or GCP Operations.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Knowledge of containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or ELK Stack.

• Certification such as ISTQB or equivalent in Performance Testing.

Interview Process

• Technical Discussion: Walkthrough of a K6 script and explanation of load simulation approaches.

• Scenario-Based Assessment: Handling and resolving performance bottlenecks.

• Code Review Exercise: Evaluation of Playwright or JavaScript/TypeScript code samples.
