Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Pastry Sous Chef based in Chennai. The Pastry Sous Chef is responsible for assisting the Head Pastry Chef in creating high-quality desserts, planning and designing dessert menus, and managing inventory for pastry ingredients. The role involves leading and supervising the pastry team, maintaining hygiene standards, ensuring recipe consistency, and collaborating with other kitchen teams to support overall culinary operations. The position also requires managing day-to-day operations to meet quality, presentation, and customer satisfaction standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in pastry preparation techniques, baking, and dessert plating
• Strong skills in menu planning, recipe development, and cost control for desserts
• Experience leading a culinary team, providing direction, and managing kitchen operations
• Knowledge of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and quality control
• Creativity, attention to detail, and passion for innovating new dessert concepts
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities with the capability to work under pressure
• Culinary certification or equivalent professional training in pastry arts preferred
• Previous experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end or luxury establishment is an advantage
