Role Description

We are looking for a Packaging - Quality Control Executive for a full-time, on-site role in the Chennai location (Ekkattuthangal/Chitlapakkam/Vendor Location). The main responsibilities include monitoring quality control processes, checking packaged products to ensure they meet quality standards, and maintaining high hygiene and safety levels during packaging. The candidate will work closely with the production, packaging development and quality assurance teams to ensure packaging quality and compliance with all company and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect and verify the production process of packing materials, including source-level compliance checks.
• Check the quality of incoming food-grade packing materials (cartons, pouches, laminates, bottles, labels, etc.) as per approved specifications and food safety standards.
• Carry out visual, physical, and dimensional checks to ensure packaging meets standards (odor-free, contamination-free, correct GSM, sealing strength, etc.).
• Maintain detailed inspection reports, test records, and rejection logs.
• Coordinate with vendors, procurement, and QA teams to address non-conformances and support corrective actions.
• Assist in vendor evaluation and material approval, including sample testing and documentation.
• Work with warehouse and dispatch teams to ensure only approved materials are used for production and shipping.
• Ensure strict adherence to SOPs, hygiene practices, and safety norms in all warehouse operations.

Requirements

• 0 to 1 year of experience
• Diploma or Graduate degree in Printing & Packaging Technology
• Strong theoretical knowledge of packaging material quality inspection, especially for FMCG, food processing, or supply chain environments
• Understanding of food safety and packaging standards (FSSAI, ISO/FSSC/BRC)
• Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel and conduct audits and trials
