Packaging Procurement Manager

Role & responsibilities

Item to be Handled: Woven Bags, Pet Bottle, Leaflet Bottles, Stickers Plastic Bottles, HDPE Bottles, Cartoon, Pouches, LDPE Pouches, Poly Bag, Tap Roll, Formulation Brand Packaging material.

Key Responsibilities:

• Procurement Planning & Execution:

• Develop and manage procurement schedules for packaging materials based on production plans.
• Ensure availability of packaging materials without overstocking or stockouts. Coordinate closely with production and planning teams for demand forecasting.

• Supplier Management:

• Source and develop qualified suppliers for various packaging materials (e.g., cartons, labels, bottles, films, etc.).
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate supplier performance based on quality, cost, delivery, and responsiveness.

• Cost Control & Optimization:

• Identify opportunities for cost savings through alternate sourcing, negotiation, or material substitution.
• Conduct market analysis to benchmark prices and maintain competitive procurement costs.

• Quality & Compliance

• Ensure that procured packaging materials meet technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with QA/QC teams for incoming material inspection and supplier audits.
• Handle non-conformances and corrective actions with suppliers.

• Sustainability & Innovation:

• Work with R&D/Packaging Development teams to source sustainable packaging options.
• Stay updated on packaging trends and innovations to support business goals.

• Cross-Functional Coordination:

  Liaise with finance for payment processing, with warehouse for inventory monitoring, and with production for schedule alignment.

Preferred candidate profile

Packaging Procurement Manager having good experience in manufacturing industry.
