Primary Job Title:

About The Opportunity

• Perform independent cataract surgeries including phacoemulsification and MSICS with strong emphasis on surgical safety and visual outcomes.
• Manage outpatient clinics: comprehensive pre-operative assessment, biometry, counselling, and structured post-operative follow-up.
• Conduct minor anterior-segment procedures and laser treatments (e.g., YAG capsulotomy) as required.
• Collaborate with optometrists, nursing staff, and anaesthesia teams to optimise patient flow, surgical lists, and peri‑operative care.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and surgical audit data; participate in quality improvement and complication review processes.
• Lead or participate in community screening camps and vision outreach initiatives to expand access to cataract services.
  

Skills & Qualifications

• MS Ophthalmology or DOMS (post-graduate qualification in Ophthalmology)
• Valid Indian medical registration (NMC/MCI and state medical council)
• Proven independent surgical experience in cataract surgery (phacoemulsification and MSICS)
• Proficiency in pre-operative biometry and IOL power calculation
• Strong clinical skills in slit-lamp examination and posterior-segment evaluation
• Experience maintaining clinical records and participating in surgical audits
  

Preferred

• Fellowship or focused training in anterior-segment/cataract surgery
• Experience with community outreach/eye camps and high-volume surgical programs
• Familiarity with ophthalmology EMR systems and digital cataract registry tools
