Job Description

Job Title: Openstack Support Engineer with OpenStack, Linux, Windows, Terraform and VMware

Location: 100% REMOTE - Offshore India

Employment Type: Long Term Contract


Job Overview:

OpenStack Support Engineer


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day

    technical support for OpenStack environments

    , including deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
  • Manage and maintain

    Linux-based systems

    that support OpenStack services.
  • Support hybrid cloud environments, including integration with

    Microsoft Azure

    and

    VMware

    infrastructure.
  • Use

    Terraform

    to automate infrastructure provisioning and updates.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues across compute, network, and storage layers in OpenStack.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance automation, performance, and scalability of cloud platforms.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, and support materials.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure

    high availability

    and

    disaster recovery

    configurations are effective.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in OpenStack administration and support.
  • Strong expertise in

    Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)

    administration and scripting.
  • Working knowledge of

    Terraform

    for infrastructure automation.
  • Solid understanding of

    VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter)

    environments.
  • Exposure to

    Microsoft Azure

    cloud services and hybrid connectivity.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting networking, storage, and virtualization-related issues.
  • Experience with tools such as Ansible, Git, or Jenkins is a plus.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Certifications such as:

  • Certified OpenStack Administrator (COA)

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate

  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

  • Terraform Associate (HashiCorp)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a global support team
