Profile Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Observatory Officer to manage and operate our observatory equipment, conduct astronomical observations, and analyze data for scientific research. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of astronomy, physics, and observation technologies, with a passion for contributing to groundbreaking discoveries in the field
Key Roles and Responsibilities
● Operate and maintain advanced telescopes, spectrometers, and other observational instruments.
● Conduct regular celestial observations, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.
● Collaborate with research teams to design and execute observational campaigns.
● Analyze astronomical data and prepare detailed reports on findings.
● Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to observatory equipment and software.
● Ensure all observations are well-documented, and data is properly archived.
● Support and assist with the preparation of academic papers and publications.
● Provide technical support and guidance to other team members and researchers.
● Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments in astrophysics and observational technology.
Knowledge Skills (Must have)
● Expertise in operating and maintaining observatory equipment, telescopes, spectrometers, and other instruments.
● BSc, Msc (Astrophysics Preferred not compulsory) B.Tech
● Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific papers.
● Familiarity with programming languages like Python, C++, or R.
● Familiarity with astronomical data analysis software and simulation tools.
● Knowledge of the latest trends in observational astronomy.
● Experience in conducting research and publishing scientific papers.
Attitude
● Willing to work independently and in a team
● Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce accurate and precise dealings.
