Job Title: Head / Sr. Manager – Development (Machine Shop)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Development Head / Sr. Manager for our machine shop that handles iron castings and precision machining using VMC, HMC, and CNC machines. This role will be pivotal in product development, tooling strategy, jig & fixture design, and gauge development, ensuring seamless conversion of customer/OEM requirements into manufacturable solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead new part development (NPD) from casting incoming to final machining and validation for OEM customers.
Drive tooling, fixture, and gauge design aligned with quality and process control requirements.
Work closely with design, foundry, and machining teams to ensure product feasibility and process robustness.
Validate machining process flow, CNC/VMC/HMC programming inputs, cycle time analysis, and productivity improvement.
Manage customer technical discussions, design reviews, and audits related to development projects.
Support PPAP, APQP, ECN and FMEA documentation with cross-functional teams.
Ensure on-time delivery of proto and sample parts, including dimensional and metallurgical validation.
Continuously improve tooling life, machine utilization, and cost-effectiveness of development setups.
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's / Master's in Mechanical or Production Engineering
10–25 years of relevant experience in iron casting machining environments
Strong experience in:
Machining development of cast iron parts for OEMs
Tooling & fixture selection/design
Gauge and inspection methodology
VMC / HMC / CNC process knowledge
GD&T and 3D CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
Familiarity with APQP / PPAP / ISO / IATF documentation and requirements
Exposure to foundry processes (preferred but not mandatory)
Preferred Candidate Profile:
Hands-on leader with strong problem-solving and analytical mindset
Experience in OEM part development cycles (from RFQ to SOP)
Good communication, project planning, and cross-functional coordination skills
Ready to work in a fast-paced and growing manufacturing setup
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹800,000.00 - ₹1,500,000.00 per year
