We’re looking for a Backend Engineer to design, build and operate scalable backend services for our product. You’ll lead development of high-performance Node.js APIs, design resilient MongoDB data models and use Redis for caching, sessions and distributed coordination. You’ll work closely with frontend, DevOps and product teams to deliver robust, low-latency systems.

Key responsibilities

Design, implement and maintain RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs in Node.js (Express, NestJS, Fastify, or similar).
Architect and optimize data models and queries in MongoDB (performance, indexing, aggregation pipelines).
Implement Redis-based solutions for caching, pub/sub, rate-limiting, sessions and background job coordination.
Build reliable data access patterns, transactions and error handling (with MongoDB replica-set awareness).
Write automated tests, integration tests and help maintain CI/CD pipelines.
Monitor, profile and troubleshoot production performance and stability issues (latency, memory, throughput).
Participate in system design reviews, code reviews, and mentor junior engineers.
Collaborate with DevOps to deploy services (Docker, PM2, systemd, or container orchestration) and secure infrastructure.
Drive improvements in developer experience, observability (logs/metrics/tracing) and incident response.
Required skills & experience
2+ years professional experience building backend services with Node.js.
Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB: schema design, indexing, aggregation, replica sets and backup/restore.
Practical experience using Redis for caching, pub/sub, and ephemeral storage (and understanding of persistence options like RDB/AOF).
Solid knowledge of REST/GraphQL API design, authentication (JWT/OAuth), and secure coding practices.
Experience with unit/integration testing (Jest, Mocha, Supertest or equivalent).
Familiarity with Docker and deployment workflows; experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Good understanding of system performance, horizontal scaling, and trade-offs in data consistency.
Strong debugging skills and experience working with logging & monitoring tools
Excellent communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹11,850.97 - ₹41,459.78 per month
