Job Description

A Windows OS Support Engineer is responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting Windows-based systems, including Servers, VMs and Workstations. They manage the Windows environment, and standard services hosted on the windows servers, implement security measures, and ensure optimal windows server system performance.


Role & Responsibilities:

  • Regularly monitoring system performance, identifying bottlenecks, and implementing solutions to optimize system efficiency.
  • Identifying and resolving windows server-related issues, including network, application, and database problems.
  • Handle escalated issues.
  • Strong knowledge on installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Server operating systems, including Active Directory, virtualization platforms (like Hyper-V), VMWare and other related services.
  • Deploying and configuring Windows Server based operating systems in the data center including additional Windows features and roles such as IIS, RADIUS, RDS, DNS, File Services, according to defined infrastructure standards.
  • Strong understanding of AD Attributes, LDAP Queries, PowerShell Scripting to Modify AD Attributes, Group Policy Analysis, GPO Configuration & Item-Level Targeting, Workstation Configurations, Browser Configuration Settings, familiarity with the Applications that integrated with Active Directory.
  • Strong knowledge of permissions that are granted natively to various Microsoft Built-In Groups to perform Active Directory Administrative Functions, knowledge of native permissions granted when building AD objects, knowledge of permissions granted natively to Built-In Groups via GPOs and/or Local Policies.
  • Thorough functional understanding and ability to configure Active Directory Server Roles (CAs, IIS, File/Print, DNS).
  • Working knowledge of GPOs, AD Sites, Replication Topology, and native AD troubleshooting tools.
  • Strong knowledge on MS Exchange Server, Design, implement, and maintain Microsoft Exchange Server environments, including server installation, configuration, and upgrades.
  • Good understanding on implements and manage email security measures (e.g., spam filtering, data loss prevention), and optimize Exchange Server performance. Management of mailbox databases, email address policies, and distribution groups.
  • Participating in change management meetings, reviewing technical designs, and following change request procedures
  • Follow ITSM Processes, Webkorps provided tools.
  • Create RCA, Reports and other technical Docs.
  • Maintain good relationship with customers.
