News Reporter

As a News Reporter, you will research, investigate, and present news stories in a timely and accurate manner. This role demands a proactive individual with a nose for news, excellent storytelling skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines. You will be the bridge between events and the audience, delivering impactful and engaging content across various platforms. Key Responsibilities: 1. News Gathering: - Research and gather information on newsworthy events from reliable sources, including interviews, press releases, and site visits. - Monitor social media, official statements, and other outlets for breaking news. 2.Story Development: - Develop compelling stories with factual accuracy and balanced perspectives. - Tailor content for different formats: print, digital, and broadcast. 3. Content Creation: - Write clear, engaging, and error-free articles, reports, or scripts. - Capture photographs or video footage when needed. 4. Interviews and Field Reporting: - Conduct interviews with relevant stakeholders, including eyewitnesses, officials, or experts. - Report live from the field during events or breaking news coverage. 5.Collaboration and Coordination: - Work closely with editors, producers, and other team members to meet editorial guidelines. - Coordinate with photographers, videographers, and technical staff during assignments. 6. Adherence to Deadlines: - Submit stories and updates on time while ensuring quality. - Respond promptly to breaking news situations and adapt to changing priorities. 7.Maintain Ethics and Accuracy: - Adhere to journalistic ethics and ensure all content is fair, accurate, and free from bias. - Fact-check all information before publication or broadcast. Qualifications and Skills: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a related field. Experience: 1–3 years of experience as a journalist or reporter preferred. Skills: - Strong writing and editing skills. - Proficiency in multimedia tools and content management systems. - Excellent verbal communication and interviewing skills. - Ability to work in high-pressure environments and meet deadlines. - Understanding of media laws and ethics.
