Job Summary

.NET Core Architect

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect end-to-end web solutions using .NET Core, Umbraco CMS, and cloud-native principles.
  • Lead technical decision-making, code reviews, performance optimization, and CI/CD strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including UX/UI, frontend developers (Angular/React/Vue), DevOps, and QA.
  • Customize and extend Umbraco CMS capabilities including content delivery, custom property editors, API integrations, and headless/decoupled setups.
  • Drive the migration of legacy systems (e.g., Umbraco 7/8) to the latest .NET Core and Umbraco LTS versions.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, security practices, and architectural blueprints.
  • Guide junior developers and ensure best practices across all development phases.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate business goals into technical solutions.

Must-Have Skills

  • 10+ years of total experience, with 4+ years in .NET Core (ASP.NET Core, C#)
  • 3+ years of experience with Umbraco CMS (v9+; preferably v10/v11/v12/v13+)
  • Deep understanding of MVC, Razor, Blazor, Web API, and RESTful architecture
  • Hands-on with SQL Server, LINQ, Entity Framework Core
  • Experience with custom ViewEngines, Composers, Content Finders, and Middleware in Umbraco
  • Strong grasp of software design patterns, SOLID principles, and layered architecture (DAL, BAL, API)
  • Proven ability in DevOps automation (Azure DevOps/GitHub Actions), CI/CD, and containerization (Docker)
  • Good understanding of front-end integrations (e.g., VueJS, Angular, React)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS/GCP), caching, and performance tuning

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with Umbraco Headless/Content Delivery APIs
  • Knowledge of search integration (Lucene, Examine, Azure Search)
  • Previous experience with migration from Umbraco 7 to 10+

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Microsoft certifications in .NET/Cloud (preferred but not mandatory)

  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Solution-oriented mindset with leadership capabilities
  • Ability to mentor teams and drive architectural governance
  • Comfortable working in agile and hybrid delivery models
