The Naturalist will design and deliver nature-based experiences that highlight the biodiversity, culture, and landscape of Wayanad. This role involves guided nature walks, wildlife interpretation, guest education, and supporting sustainability initiatives while ensuring guest safety.
Minimum Experience Requirement
1–2 years of experience as a Naturalist in a Resort.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct guided nature walks, birdwatching sessions, plantation trails, and soft trekking experiences.
Deliver engaging educational sessions on local flora, fauna, ecology, and cultural heritage.
Create and manage nature-based activities for families, children, and special-interest guests.
Provide expert recommendations on outdoor activities within and around the resort.
Identify and interpret wildlife, plants, insects, amphibians, and birds of the Western Ghats.
Maintain updated field knowledge and contribute to wildlife sighting logs.
Assist with biodiversity mapping and documentation within the resort landscape
Promote and implement eco-friendly practices among guests and staff.
Support resort sustainability programs: waste management, energy conservation, water-saving initiatives.
Help develop new nature and conservation initiatives.
Ensure guest safety on all trails, treks, and outdoor activities.
Inspect trails and activity zones regularly to identify potential risks.
Maintain first-aid readiness and adhere to all resort SOPs.
Coordinate daily and weekly activity schedules with the activities team.
Maintain reports on guest participation, wildlife sightings, and feedback.
Support content creation for nature documentation, photography, and social media (if required).
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Forestry, Environmental Science, Wildlife Science, Zoology, Botany, or related fields.
Strong interest and knowledge of biodiversity, especially Western Ghats flora & fauna.
Good communication skills in English, Hindi and preferably in regional languages
Physically fit for outdoor activities and moderate trekking.
Preferred
Birdwatching ability and familiarity with common species in Wayanad.
First-aid certification.
Experience working with nature resorts or wildlife destinations.
Friendly, patient, approachable, and guest-focused.
Curious, observant, and passionate about nature.
Responsible, safety-conscious, and self-motivated.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
