Skills/Qualifications:

• Proficiency and knowledge of basic Indian classical music and traditional music theory.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and faculty.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students to pursue their musical interests.
• Knowledge of the cultural context and history behind the music taught.
• Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards teaching.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• A genuine passion for music education and commitment to student development.

Requirements:

• Experience in teaching the elements of Indian Music
• Proficiency in additional instruments or music styles (e.g., fusion, folk music) is a plus
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to lead and organize music-related events and performances.

Responsibilities:

• Teaching and Curriculum Development: Plan and deliver engaging lessons in Indian music to students across various age groups and skill levels.
• Student Engagement: Foster a passion for music in students and encourage their creativity through hands-on learning and performance opportunities. Provide individualized instruction and feedback to help students improve their musical technique and knowledge. Prepare students for school performances, concerts, and competitions.
• Assessment and Evaluation: Assess and monitor students' progress, providing regular feedback and guidance for improvement. Maintain accurate records of students' progress and attendance. Organize and participate in annual music showcases or recitals.
• Collaboration and Professional Development: Work collaboratively with the curriculum head to plan and execute school-wide music events, festivals, and cultural programs. Attend faculty meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related events. Stay updated with the latest trends and methods in Indian music education and participate in professional development opportunities.
