Role Description:

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to gain practical experience in engagements that involve the design, implementation, and management of data security solutions using Microsoft Purview. This role is crucial in protecting the proprietary and sensitive information of our organization and our diverse clientele. The candidate will collaborate closely with various teams, driving requirements and improvements, and establishing themselves as a subject matter expert in data security. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of data security and to make a significant impact on our organization’s data protection strategies.

Experience:

Technical Skills

• Mastery in Microsoft Purview and its integration with other Microsoft services.
• Deep understanding of data security principles and best practices.
• Familiarity with global data privacy regulations such as GDPR, DPDPA, CCPA, and HIPAA.
• Strong understanding of Sensitive Infotypes, Custom and Trainable Classifiers, Records Management and Data Lifecycle Management concepts.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, including data governance, compliance management, and Information Protection capabilities. Specific experience strongly recommended and will be thoroughly assessed in technical interviews.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, audits, and data flow mapping in Microsoft Purview.
• Experience with incident response and threat detection related to data breaches.
• Experience in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or similar technologies.
• Background in IT compliance, risk management, or related fields.
• Experience deploying other Microsoft 365 and Azure tools including Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Intune, and more.

• Excellent communication and communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong ability to create a positive impression on clients and maintain confidence while guiding client IT teams in enterprise deployments of Purview. This includes navigating various client challenges, attitudes, concerns and expectations while achieving technical success.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
• Capable of generating accurate, comprehensive as-built documentation representing the total output of work delivered to the client.

Roles & Responsibilities-

• Architect, implement, and manage data security solutions using Microsoft Purview, ensuring the secure handling and processing of sensitive data.
• Develop and maintain data security policies, procedures, and controls in line with global data privacy regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with various teams across the organization to integrate data security measures into their operations.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to ensure compliance with data security regulations and to identify any potential security vulnerabilities.
• Provide training and guidance to staff on data security best practices, promoting a culture of data security within the organization.
• Stay up to date with the latest developments in data security, ensuring that our data security measures are always at the forefront of the industry.
• Provide expert guidance and support to teams on leveraging Microsoft Purview for DLP
• Develop policies and controls for data classification, retention, and protection, ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with client data governance and compliance teams to ensure alignment with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Develop policies for data classification, retention, and protection within Microsoft Purview.
• Monitor and manage data access and usage compliance using Purview's advanced data governance tools.
• Coordinate with different teams to integrate Purview with other Azure services and Microsoft 365 applications.
• Provide technical guidance for clients, team members and stakeholders on Microsoft Purview capabilities and best practices.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 compliance and data governance features.
