We’re now building a strong personal brand presence for our co-founder and need a skilled Video Editor to turn raw content into engaging, professional, documentary-style videos that perform well on Instagram and other platforms. Role Overview As our Video Editor, you will be responsible for creating high-quality, story-driven content that strengthens the co-founder’s personal brand and aligns with the EdTech company’s vision. Your edits will help us connect with our audience, grow engagement, and build authority in the design and education space. Key Responsibilities Edit short-form documentary-style videos (reels, shorts, etc.) for Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Work with raw footage from shoots, interviews, and vlogs to craft a compelling narrative. Add captions, motion graphics, and subtle animations to enhance engagement. Maintain a consistent visual identity and tone across all content. Collaborate with the co-founder and marketing team to plan video ideas and storyboards. Stay updated with Instagram trends, transitions, and editing techniques that drive reach. Repurpose long-form content into bite-sized, high-impact clips for social media. Requirements Proven experience as a Video Editor (portfolio required). Strong skills in Premiere Pro, After Effects, or Final Cut Pro. Understanding of storytelling & pacing for social media audiences. Ability to edit in a documentary / cinematic style with clean transitions. Knowledge of social media trends and audience engagement strategies. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines consistently. Nice to Have Experience with personal branding or influencer content. Basic knowledge of color grading and sound design. Creativity to suggest new content formats and ideas.
