About the Role

Motion Control Software Architect

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and design the software framework for motion control in robotic systems.
• Develop algorithms for kinematics, dynamics, trajectory planning, and control loops (PID, MPC, adaptive control).
• Implement and optimize real-time motion control on RTOS/Linux platforms.
• Integrate hardware components (servo drives, encoders, sensors, actuators, safety controllers) with the software stack.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (mechanical, electrical, embedded, AI/ML) to ensure seamless integration.
• Drive adherence to robotics safety standards (ISO 10218, IEC 61508, ISO 13849).
• Lead system validation using MIL/SIL/HIL testing and simulation environments (Gazebo, Isaac Sim, Simulink).
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and code reviews to ensure best practices in software design.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s/Master’s/Ph.D. in Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical/Electronics, or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in robotics/motion control software, with at least 3 years in an architect/lead role.
• Strong knowledge of control theory, kinematics, and robotics algorithms.
• Proficiency in

  C/C++, Python, MATLAB/Simulink

• Experience with

  ROS/ROS2

  , EtherCAT, CANopen, or other real-time communication frameworks.
• Expertise in real-time operating systems (RTOS, Linux RT).
• Familiarity with safety standards and fault-tolerant system design.
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.

Good to Have

• Experience in industrial automation, collaborative robots (cobots), or autonomous mobile robots.
• Knowledge of AI/ML integration for perception-driven motion control.
• Exposure to simulation tools such as Webots, dSPACE, or Open Robotics frameworks.
