1️⃣ Role: L2 – Migration Engineer (Advanced Level)

Experience Required:

Mandatory Skills:

• Migration Tools:

• ✅ Must have strong hands-on experience with both:

• VMware HCX

• Zerto

• Operating Systems:

• ✅ Advanced administration experience in

  Windows and/or Linux

  environments

• Shell Scripting:

• ✅ Proficient in

  Shell scripting

  for automation or infrastructure operations (e.g., Bash, PowerShell)

Additional Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute workload migration using

  VMware HCX

  and

  Zerto

  across data centers or cloud environments
• Work with infrastructure and network teams to ensure seamless cutover and rollback procedures
• Automate pre/post migration checks and reporting
• Troubleshoot OS-level issues during and post-migration
• Maintain clear documentation and status reporting during migration phases
• Engage with clients for technical validations and sign-offs

Good to Have:

• Experience with

  Cloud Migration

  (AWS/Azure/GCP)
• Familiarity with

  Change Management & ITIL processes

2️⃣ Role: L1 – Migration Support Engineer (Entry/Intermediate Level)

Experience Required:

Minimum Requirements:

• Experience with

  any migration tool

  (e.g., VMware vMotion, AWS Migration, Azure Migrate, CloudEndure, etc.)

• Zerto or HCX experience

  is preferred but not mandatory
• Strong

  functional knowledge

  or

  hands-on experience

  in at least one of the following:
• ✅

  Database upgrade/migration

  (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• ✅

  Shell scripting

  (basic to intermediate proficiency in Bash, PowerShell, etc.)

Responsibilities:

• Assist in execution and validation of migration tasks under supervision of L2 engineers
• Execute and validate scripted migration jobs
• Run test plans and checklists to ensure data and app integrity
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for dependencies and follow-up
• Log migration outcomes and generate reports
