Merchant Manager

Job Purpose:

To drive business growth by managing end-to-end product development, production coordination, and buyer communication. The role involves developing new product lines, ensuring timely approvals and production, and presenting seasonal collections to buyers and buying houses.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development:

• Identify new business opportunities with existing and prospective buyers.
  
• Build strong relationships with buyers and buying houses to expand business portfolio.
  
• Conduct market research to understand fashion and product trends, competitive landscape, and customer preferences.
  

2. Product Development & Follow-up:

• Coordinate with design and development teams to create new product ranges in line with buyer requirements and trends.
  
• Handle sampling process including fabric sourcing, trims, costing, and timely submission.
  
• Ensure buyer feedback is incorporated in product refinements.
  

3. Production Coordination & Approvals:

• Follow up with production teams to ensure on-time order execution.
  
• Track sample approvals, lab dips, fits, and pre-production approvals.
  
• Resolve any production issues or buyer concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
  

4. Buyer Communication:

• Serve as the key point of contact for buyers and buying houses.
  
• Communicate clearly and promptly regarding product updates, approvals, timelines, and delivery schedules.
  
• Maintain professional and transparent communication to build trust and long-term partnerships.
  

5. Seasonal Planning & Presentations:

• Plan and coordinate new season collections based on market and buyer insights.
  
• Prepare and present product lines and mood boards to buyers.
  
• Collaborate with internal teams for visual merchandising and sales presentations.
