Merchandiser (Sportswear)

Role Overview: As a Merchandiser with a strong background in sports apparel, your role will involve coordinating with vendors, developing products, negotiating costs, and ensuring quality compliance. You will collaborate closely with internal and external teams to deliver commercially viable products. Key Responsibilities: - Sourcing & Vendor Development: - Identify and evaluate suitable vendors for sportswear production. - Build and maintain relationships with mills, trim suppliers, and manufacturers. - Ensure product specifications align with vendor capabilities. - Costing & Negotiation: - Analyze costing structures across vendors and regions. - Lead cost negotiations to achieve target margins. - Monitor raw material prices and update costing models. - Cut-to-Pack Execution: - Plan and coordinate the cut-to-pack process in line with tech packs and guidelines. - Oversee vendor compliance with product specs and packaging requirements. - Ensure final products meet quality standards before handover. - Cross-functional Coordination: - Collaborate with design, technical, QA, and planning teams for seamless development cycles. - Act as a key liaison between internal teams and vendors. Qualifications & Skills: - Bachelor's degree in Fashion, Textiles, Merchandising, or related field. - 3-6 years of merchandising experience in sportswear. - Expertise in sourcing, costing, and cut-to-pack processes. - Strong understanding of fabric types, trims, technical constructions, and compliance. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. - Ability to manage multiple development calendars and vendor timelines.
