We are seeking a skilled MEP Designer (Mechanical & Electrical Engineer) to develop and coordinate MEP design layouts, services drawings, and site implementation support for our retail store development projects across India.This role requires a deep understanding of HVAC, electrical distribution, fire safety, plumbing, and lighting systems — ensuring all MEP designs meet brand standards, local codes, and energy efficiency targets.The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with architectural, procurement, and project execution teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and safe store environments
Key Responsibilities
Design & Drawing Development
- Prepare MEP design layouts, GFC (Good for Construction) drawings, and coordination drawings for retail fit-outs.
- Develop HVAC load calculations, lighting layouts, power distribution diagrams, and plumbing schematics.
- Incorporate energy-efficient systems and sustainable design practices.
- Ensure design integration with architectural, interior, and civil elements.
Technical Coordination
- Work with architects, structural engineers, and project managers to finalize technical details.
- Conduct MEP clash detection using AutoCAD / Revit before project execution.
- Support value engineering exercises to optimize material and equipment selections.
Site & Execution Support
- Review and validate MEP shop drawings submitted by vendors or contractors.
- Conduct site visits to ensure MEP installations comply with approved drawings and specifications.
- Assist in commissioning and handover documentation post-completion.
Documentation & Compliance
- Ensure all MEP designs comply with local statutory norms, fire safety codes, and brand guidelines.
- Prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities), technical specifications, and scope documentation for tendering.
- Maintain version control and record drawings for each project in centralized repositories.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with the Procurement team on technical specifications for material and equipment procurement.
- Collaborate with PMO / Data Analyst for design progress reports, material status, and change management.
- Participate in design review meetings with regional and international stakeholders.
Required Skills & Tools
- Strong command of AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with Dialux / Relux (Lighting Design) and HAP / Elite (HVAC calculations).
- Knowledge of electrical load distribution, cable sizing, and single-line diagrams.
- Understanding of fire-fighting systems, HVAC ducting, plumbing layouts, and drainage design.
- Up-to-date with IS codes, NBC norms, and fire safety standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 4–8 years of relevant experience in MEP design and coordination, preferably in retail, commercial interiors, or fit-out projects.
- Experience in multi-site retail rollouts is highly preferred.
- Certification in Revit MEP / HVAC Design / Electrical Systems is an advantage.
