Mission Statement
The Mechanical Developer-BIM Modeler you will join our INOPC team in India, an organization leading continuous activities focused on this case on transformers. You will contribute to the development of projects related to the mechanical modeling of power transformers. You are responsible for building high quality content to a set specification and standard & will be predominantly focused on content creation and maintenance
Responsibilities
- Develop precise and detailed 3D models using BIM software such as Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks across mechanical, electrical, civil, and structural disciplines.
- Design transformer sub-components (with emphasis on tank / externals) for integration into various platforms, including BIM tools.
- Integrate CAD models and engineering calculations into the mechanical design ecosystem.
- Understand and facilitate communication between software applications interacting with the mechanical design platform.
- Document findings and processes through reports, specifications, and training materials.
- Generate 2D drawings and construction documentation derived from 3D models.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and project teams to ensure model accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
- Revise models based on design updates and stakeholder feedback.
- Conduct clash detection and coordinate with BIM Coordinators to resolve conflicts.
- Manage and maintain BIM content libraries, ensuring adherence to company standards and naming conventions.
- Support the development of BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Model Production Delivery Tables (MPDTs), and Master Information Delivery Plans (MIDPs).
- Partner with the Digital Content Library Leader to enhance existing modeling content.
- Collaborate with the digital development team to update content for new tools and workflows.
- Contribute to project delivery teams as needed to support production efforts.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in BIM modelling, preferably in global or multi-location projects.
- Proven expertise in Revit content creation, including family development and project integration.
- Experience with transformers, especially power transformers, is highly desirable.
Technical Proficiency
- Strong command of Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Familiarity with CAD modelling tools (preferably CREO).
- Knowledge of Level of Development (LOD) standards (e.g., BIM Forum, NBS).
- Experience with parametric geometry, Revit categories, object styles, visibility control, parameter management, and type catalogues.
- Proficiency in Adaptive Components and Dynamo is preferred.
- Programming experience (e.g., Rules Engine) is an asset.
Soft Skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Innovative mindset with a structured, problem-solving approach.Experience working in international teams is a plus.Fluent in spoken and written English.Willingness to travel occasionally (
