We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechanical Engineer with 3-5 years of expertise in transformer mechanical design and development. The ideal candidate will bring advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, tank design, cooling systems, and material selection with a strong focus on optimizing the mechanical performance and structural integrity of transformers. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that power industries worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mechanical Transformer Design: o Design and optimize transformer tanks, covers, radiators, and cooling systems (ONAN, ONAF, etc.) to meet customer specifications and international standards (IEC, ANSI, etc.).
  • Perform structural and thermal calculations to ensure the mechanical integrity and performance of transformers under various operating conditions.
  • Develop detailed mechanical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and assembly instructions for manufacturing and customer review.
  • Select appropriate materials for tanks, gaskets, fittings, and other components to meet operational and environmental requirements. o Ensure compliance with design standards for noise levels, vibration, and oil containment in transformer applications.

Compliance and Documentation

  • Ensure all designs comply with international standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain and manage technical documentation, including drawings, calculations, and design reports, for internal and external stakeholders.

Cross-Department Collaboration:

  • Work closely within the ETS Electrical and Mechanical team, to align mechanical designs with overall transformer performance and production feasibility.
  • Support the tendering team by providing technical inputs related to mechanical aspects during the proposal and order finalization stages.
  • Ensure seamless integration of design requirements across various teams for efficient project execution.
  • Technical Communication and Support:

1. Engage with cross-functional teams to facilitate effective communication and alignment on project objectives.
2. Actively participate in internal and external technical discussions, to represent mechanical design expertise.3.Support global design standards and research and development initiatives as needed to drive innovation and maintain industry leadership.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design and development for transformers with established manufacturers.
  • Knowledge of international standards (IEC, ANSI, IEEE) and mechanical design best practices.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar software for 3D modeling and technical drawings.
  • Strong understanding of transformer cooling systems, tank designs, and material selection.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes relevant to transformer production. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
