Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer Location: Atlas Transformers India Limited (Por, GIDC) Experience : 2 to 3 Years In Transformers Industry Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with expertise in designing mechanical components and systems for power and distribution transformers . The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical design of transformer tanks, radiators, conservators, core clamping arrangements, and accessory fittings, ensuring compliance with relevant standards such as IEC, ANSI, and IS. Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical components of oil-immersed or dry-type transformers Prepare detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings of tanks, radiators, conservators, terminal boxes, lifting lugs, jacking pads, base channels, etc. Collaborate with electrical design teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electrical components. Perform stress analysis, structural integrity checks, and thermal simulations where applicable. Select appropriate materials, coatings, and hardware based on transformer application and environment. Ensure designs meet international standards (e.g., IEC 60076, ANSI, IS 2026) and customer specifications. Generate bills of materials (BOM) and support procurement and manufacturing teams. Participate in design reviews, cost optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives. Provide technical support to the production, quality assurance, and service teams during fabrication and testing. Maintain design documentation and revision control through PLM/PDM systems. Required Skills & Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E/B.Tech or equivalent). 3–7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in transformer manufacturing. Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo, or Siemens NX). Familiarity with GD&T, fabrication methods, and welding standards. Knowledge of industry standards: IEC, ANSI, IS, ASME, etc. Experience in FEA and thermal simulations (e.g., ANSYS, COMSOL) is a plus. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication, welding, painting, and machining. Good communication skills and ability to work in cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle). Exposure to lean manufacturing and DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles. Knowledge of insulation systems and cooling methods used in transformers (ONAN, ONAF, etc.). Job Type: Full-time Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month Work Location: In person
