Role Description


A Maharashtrian Master Chef's role is a senior culinary leadership position focused on Maharashtrian cuisine, encompassing menu development, kitchen management, and staff supervision key duties include creating authentic and innovative Maharashtrian recipes, ensuring high-quality standards, managing kitchen operations and training Junior Staff.


Culinary responsibilities

  • Menu development:

     Design innovative and traditional menus showcasing a wide range of Maharashtrian dishes, from classics like Misal Pav to more modern creations.
  • Recipe creation and standardization:

     Develop signature recipes, set presentation standards, and ensure consistency in taste, portion size, and quality.
  • Quality control:

     Ensure the freshness of ingredients and the quality of all food products before they are served.
  • Cuisine expertise:

     Possess deep knowledge of Maharashtrian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques. 


Kitchen management and leadership

  • Staff supervision:

     Lead, train, and mentor kitchen staff, including sous chefs and line cooks.
  • Operations management:

     Oversee all daily kitchen operations, from sourcing ingredients to managing inventory and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Team leadership:

     Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the kitchen team. 

Ensure HACCP procedures are followed and clear records are kept at all times

Responsible for the work assigned by Brand Master Chef & Executive Chef in any section of the kitchen

As per the Standards.

Maintain personal grooming and hygiene to ensure standards are maintained.


Qualifications and skills

  • Expertise:

     Deep knowledge of Maharashtrian cuisine, including its traditional and contemporary forms.
  • Culinary skills:

     Strong ability in menu creation, portion control, and food presentation.
  • Leadership:

     Ability to lead, manage, and mentor kitchen staff effectively.
  • Knowledge of hygiene:

     Proficient in food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices.
