Job Summary:

Manufacturing Technology & Development Engineer


Key Responsibilities:

🔧 SPM Building & Automation:

  • Design, develop, and validate Special Purpose Machines based on custom industrial requirements.
  • Collaborate with design and controls teams for system architecture and electrical-mechanical integration.


🏭 Manufacturing Process Engineering:

  • Develop, standardize, and optimize manufacturing processes for sheet metal, machining, welding, and assembly.
  • Ensure production scalability, quality control, and process stability across various material types.
  • Define standard work instructions and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Poka-yoke, 5S, etc.).


🤝 Vendor Development:

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors for fabricated components, machining, and bought-out parts.
  • Ensure vendor compliance with quality, cost, and delivery (QCD) targets.
  • Collaborate with SCM and QA teams for regular audits and supplier performance improvement.


⚙️ Material Expertise:

  • Recommend appropriate materials for function, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Handle processing requirements and challenges related to MS, SS, AL, polymers, and exotic materials like Inconel, Duplex SS, and Titanium.


✅ Quality & Documentation:

  • Ensure compliance with ISO/ASME/ASTM standards in both process and vendor deliverables.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of processes, test plans, and machine validation protocols.


👥 Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with R&D, sourcing, production, QA, and automation teams.
  • Train shop floor teams and vendors on process standards and SPM usage.


Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Diploma / B.E. / B. Tech / M.E. in Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience in:
  • Special Purpose Machine design and automation
  • Manufacturing process engineering
  • Vendor development and sourcing
  • Strong knowledge of welding, machining, forming, and assembly operations.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and production simulation tools.
  • Good understanding of lean manufacturing, 8D/root cause analysis, and FMEA.


Preferred Industry Background:

  • Automotive, aerospace, capital machinery, or industrial automation.
