Manufacturing Engineering Specialist

As an Expatriate Manufacturing Engineering Lead for clutch assembly and components in India, your role will involve leading, setting up, optimizing, and enhancing automotive heavy commercial vehicle clutch assembly operations. Your primary focus will be on driving productivity, product robustness, and quality excellence year after year while also developing a strong competitive local team. Key Responsibilities: - Study the existing commissioned setup and optimize clutch assembly lines process layout, automation, and validation. Introduce integrated quality checks and poka yokes to ensure product quality. - Standardize processes with global automotive quality systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001. - Drive continuous improvement in productivity, defect reduction, and cost optimization. - Define and implement process control standards including PFMEA, Six Sigma, Lean, and TPS. - Enhance product robustness and performance in collaboration with design and development teams. - Mentor and upskill cross-functional teams on best manufacturing practices. - Support supplier audits and localization/validation of clutch components. - Promote workplace safety, ergonomic design, and energy-efficient operations. - Transform the current facility into a state-of-the-art facility. In addition to the responsibilities mentioned, you should have deep expertise in clutch manufacturing for heavy vehicles, including press shop, machine shop, heat treatment, assembly, and testing. You should also possess knowledge on multistage pressing, forming accuracies, press force, die alignment, and restriking. Familiarity with heat treatment controls, material aspects for clutch components, advanced process optimization, and quality assurance methodologies is essential. Understanding virtual processes, simulation, validation, best practices, and productivity norms across the industry will be advantageous. Qualifications: - Graduation/Post Graduation in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering. - 20+ years of relevant automotive/manufacturing experience, preferably specializing in clutch/transmission. - Demonstrated record of driving productivity, quality, and process improvement in a plant leadership role. Your technical skills should include process design, troubleshooting, optimization, data analysis, statistical process control, project management, supplier management, and technical negotiations. In terms of behavioral competencies, you should exhibit leadership in multicultural and cross-functional settings, effective communication, critical thinking, attention to detail, problem-solving, adaptability, openness to innovation, and mentorship for younger engineers.,
