The ideal candidate should have a strong background in tool room design using Cimatron, as well as experience in sheet metal and press shop design. The job is based in Chennai and Tiruvallur, and the selected candidate should be able to start immediately. This is a full-time, permanent position with day and morning shifts. The preferred educational qualification is a Bachelor's degree. Role & responsibilities Tool Design & Development Design tools, dies, and fixtures for sheet metal components (progressive, compound, bending, deep draw tools, etc.). Select appropriate tooling concepts based on part complexity, production volume, and customer requirements. Develop 2D drawings and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, NX). Optimize tool designs for manufacturability, efficiency, and cost. Tool Manufacturing & Vendor Coordination Create BOMs and coordinate with vendors for tool fabrication. Review tool progress, conduct design reviews, and assist vendors with technical clarifications. Approve tool trials (T0, T1) and ensure tools meet specifications. Trial, Validation & Troubleshooting Support tool trials and First Article Inspection (FAI) . Analyze tool performance and implement design changes to resolve issues like springback, wrinkling, cracking, etc. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with Product Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Project Management teams. Provide support during the production ramp-up phase and handover to manufacturing. Cost and Timeline Management Estimate tooling cost and time for new components. Ensure timely delivery of tools as per project timelines. Preferred candidate profile Key Skills: Tool design for progressive, compound, and stage tools Expertise in sheet metal component design and manufacturing Hands-on experience in 2D & 3D CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, UG NX, etc.) Knowledge of DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturability/Assembly) GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) Die design blanking, piercing, forming, bending, and drawing operations Basic understanding of material properties (CRCA, SS, Al, etc.) Vendor coordination and tool trial follow-ups Simulation tools like AutoForm (optional but preferred) Tool cost estimation and BOM preparation

As a Documentation Specialist in the press shop, your primary responsibility will be to handle all types of documentation including Precheck sheets, in-process QA reports, and more. You will be required to plan production activities based on the schedule provided by the PPC department. Additionally, you will oversee the procurement of raw materials in accordance with our production planning. Maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and organization (5S) within the press shop will be crucial to ensure smooth operations. You will also be responsible for calculating Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) monthly and analyzing any production issues that may affect machine availability. Collaborating closely with the tool room team, you will work towards the elimination of press tool problems to enhance machine efficiency. Introducing new methodologies such as Kaizens and Poka Yoke will be part of your continuous improvement initiatives. Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Supervisor to oversee daily operations in our sheet metal furniture fabrication unit. Key Responsibilities: Supervise and coordinate daily production activities in sheet metal fabrication and assembly lines. Ensure production schedules are met by coordinating labor, equipment, and material flow efficiently. Train, guide, and evaluate production staff to improve performance and adherence to safety practices. Collaborate with Quality Assurance to identify and resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, and 5S standards on the shop floor. Maintain production documentation, including job orders, process checklists, and shift reports. Work with maintenance to ensure all machinery and tools are operational and downtime is minimized. Provide technical input on process improvement, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement. Identify training needs and participate in skill development initiatives for the production team. Required Skills and Qualifications: Minimum 5 years of hands-on supervisory experience in sheet metal furniture fabrication . Strong understanding of metal fabrication processes including laser cutting, bending, MIG/TIG welding, powder coating, and final assembly .
