Manufacturing Design Engineer (CNC)

Role Overview: At Apple, as a Manufacturing Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in leading the development and ramp for next-generation Apple products. Your contributions will enable the mass creation of innovative products and leave a lasting impact on Apple's renowned designs. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge manufacturing processes to ensure product quality, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability. Key Responsibilities: - Partner with multi-functional teams to evaluate design and processes during the concept phase - Develop and implement manufacturing technologies, control strategies, and methods for mass production - Implement processes to deliver on cosmetic and dimensional part characteristics - Compile and evaluate data for process and part specifications - Ensure proper definition of process expectations and fixturing techniques - Lead Manufacturing Design Engineering functions for programs and projects - Conduct process optimization DOEs and drive corrective actions - Lead development in areas such as CNC machining, surface finishing, and yield improvement actions - Own process change decisions based on statistical process control data analysis - Develop new processes for blasting, tumbling, polishing, and more to meet quality and yield requirements Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology, Chemical Engineering, or similar) - 7+ years of experience in high-volume mechanical product development or manufacturing engineering - Hands-on experience in metal cutting, robotics, polishing, sandblasting, laser welding, and more - Strong understanding of fixture and automation design principles, Data Analysis, and Design of Experiments - Expert knowledge of GD&T, NX, Siemens Controls, Mastercam, Vericut, and statistical analytical tools - Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% Note: Preferred qualifications and submission of CV mentioned in the JD are omitted for brevity.,
